Guest lectures and meetings by Dr. Mohamed Attia from Egypt

On February 24-28, the Faculty of Management hosted a lecturer from the Future University in Egypt, Dr. Mohamed Attia.

Dr. Mohamed Attia is a specialist in big data analytics and data warehousing. During his visit, he conducted lectures in Data Warehousing with master's students in the field of Computer Science and Econometrics, specialization: Data Analysis – Big Data. Dr. Attia also met with researchers of the Department of Statistics and the Department of Business Informatics. The result of these meetings is a preliminary determination of the scope of scientific cooperation.

The visit of Dr. Attia results from an agreement between the Faculty of Management of the University of Gdańsk and the Faculty of Computers and Information Technology of the Future University in Egypt under the Erasmus+ KA171 programme (cooperation with partner countries). The coordinator of the cooperation is Dr. Arkadiusz Kozłowski from the Department of Statistics.

Future University in Egypt is one of the top universities in Egypt. In the QS World University Ranking 2025, it was ranked first among private universities in Egypt and in the top five of all universities in Egypt. In addition, it is in the top 50 universities of the "Arab world" and in the top 20 of African universities.
